Chris McLaughlin
Chris McLaughlin is a veteran vocal jazz educator and clinician from St Catharines, Ontario. He formed one of the first vocal jazz ensembles in Ontario in 1986, and his groups have received national and international attention since.
His high school ensembles were twice invited to perform at the International Association for Jazz Education’s international conference. They also appeared at several Ontario Music Educators’ Association annual conferences, performed on CBC-Radio, and led a Teacher’s Professional Development Day workshop for the Ottawa-Carleton school board at the National Arts Centre.
His current group, the Hamilton All Star Vocal Jazz ensemble, is one of the leading university-level groups in Canada.
This is Chris’s fourth appearance as clinician at the Brandon Jazz Festival.
