Rod Wiedman was born and raised in Minnesota. He began his music career playing Trumpet and French Horn at LaCrescent High School. He continued his music education at Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Instrumental Music.
Mr. Wiedman has taught band for 33 years at Acadia Junior High School in Winnipeg, Manitoba, which boasts one of the largest programs in the province. His students made up three concert bands and one jazz band. Together, they have won many prestigious provincial, national and international awards.
Over the past several years, Mr. Wiedman has served as clinician, educator, conductor and adjudicator for many festivals and honour bands from Manitoba to British Columbia.
